Abstract

Security awareness has become a fundamental element for maintaining social stability and promoting responsible interaction within contemporary societies. In this context, educational media plays a significant role in disseminating values, knowledge, and ethical principles that contribute to the development of responsible and informed citizens. The present study aims to analyze the theoretical foundations that support the enhancement of security awareness within the field of educational media through the integration of quantitative, qualitative, and integrative approaches. The research adopts a theoretical and analytical perspective that examines the main academic contributions related to media influence, audience interaction, and the role of communication systems in shaping public awareness. From the quantitative perspective, the study reviews theories associated with behavioral influences, media dependency, and the diffusion of innovations, which explain the measurable effects of media messages on audiences. The qualitative perspective focuses on interpretative approaches, including cultural analysis and social responsibility theory, highlighting the ethical and societal responsibilities of media institutions. Additionally, the integrative approach combines multiple theoretical perspectives to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between educational media and the development of security awareness. The findings suggest that educational media contributes significantly to strengthening social values such as citizenship, responsibility, and collective security when communication strategies are designed with educational objectives and ethical standards. Consequently, the integration of diverse theoretical approaches allows for a broader understanding of how media messages can effectively promote security awareness in contemporary societies.
