¿Vigilar para motivar? computación afectiva, motivación académica e inteligencia artificial emocional en la educación secundaria

Resumen

La incorporación de inteligencia artificial en la educación secundaria ha extendido el debate educativo hacia la dimensión afectiva del aprendizaje, por lo que se sitúa a la computación afectiva ante la posibilidad de interpretar señales vinculadas con las emociones del estudiante y responder pedagógicamente a ellas; frente a esta promesa, el ensayo desarrolla una reflexión crítica que examina hasta qué punto dicha tecnología puede favorecer la motivación sin desconocer los límites que surgen de su aplicación, cuestión que se aborda mediante la teoría de las emociones de logro y la teoría de la autodeterminación para comprender cómo el aburrimiento, la confusión o el flujo inciden sobre el interés y la autoeficacia; esta relación conduce al examen de la evidencia científica, cuya insuficiencia cuestiona la inferencia de estados internos mediante datos biométricos, problema que adquiere alcance ético ante la vigilancia de menores y deriva en una respuesta regulatoria expresada por la prohibición europea vigente desde febrero de 2025; ante estas tensiones, se propone orientar la IA hacia el desarrollo de la agencia emocional y la autorregulación bajo decisión humana, perspectiva que abre la discusión sobre las condiciones de gobernanza requeridas en Colombia y América Latina para evitar que su incorporación amplíe inequidades educativas
