Abstract

The main purpose of this work is the development of a web application for the Information Management of Tropical Cyclones; It is developed at the University of Cienfuegos for the Provincial Meteorological Center (CMP) of Cienfuegos. The system allows the administration, management and analysis of all the information regarding tropical cyclones originating from 1851 to the present in a fast and efficient way. The system facilitates the operational work of the meteorologists of the Group of Forecasts in hurricane season by integrating the data -formerly in different media-, and quickly providing relevant information. The software development methodology, the Unified Software Development Process (RUP), the UML as the modeling language, PHP as the programming language and the Yii2 framework for the development of the web application are used as tools in the design.
