Status of the Health System in Peru by 2021 and Pending Agenda

This descriptive research with a quantitative approach seeks to analyze the situation of the Peruvian health system during the period 2010 to 2021, as well as to propose the pending agenda for the sector, contrasting the evolution of health spending with previous periods and comparing with other countries in the Latin American and European region. The problem of the human resource of the sector is analyzed and finally to identify the infrastructure gap of the first level of attention; for which the methods are used: hermeneutic, content analysis and statistics. It is concluded that the health sector needs a sustained increase in a greater proportion of the general budget of the Republic, as well as the decentralization of the first level of care.
