The influence of ICTs on the evolution of jurisprudence: an analysis of transformations in the digital age

The objective of this review article was to analyze the influence of ICTs on jurisprudence in the digital age. The methodological strategy consisted of a systematic literature search in various databases, using relevant keywords and predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Scientific articles, technical reports, and legal documents were selected and analyzed. The results showed that ICTs significantly impact jurisprudence, identifying trends such as online hearings, e-evidence, e-notifications, e-files, and AI, transforming the administration of justice and the construction of law. Online hearings overcome geographical barriers and facilitate participation. E-evidence is a key source of evidence, although its admission poses challenges. E-notifications streamline processes and reduce costs. E-files facilitate access to information and case management, improving transparency. AI and data analytics improve decision-making and efficiency. In conclusion, ICTs have the potential to positively transform jurisprudence and the administration of justice, making them more accessible, efficient, and transparent. However, it is important to proactively address the challenges posed by the digitalization of justice and ensure that everyone can benefit from the advantages of the technology.
