The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the business environment has gone from being a competitive advantage to a survival imperative, generating critical tensions between available technology and job skills. The objective of this study was to analyze the adoption of AI and workers' perceptions of corporate training programs. The research was conducted using a descriptive-exploratory empirical approach, and a digital questionnaire was designed and administered to 300 professionals active in the Venezuelan labor market, belonging to various industrial sectors. A structural pedagogical disconnect was identified; although 54.5% of companies use generative AI, 72.7% of workers have not received specific training, fostering a scenario of shadow learning or unregulated self-learning. Existing training is mostly limited to informative talks (awareness-raising) without technical or ethical depth. The findings refute the notion that resistance to change is the main barrier; instead, lack of operational time and institutional inertia are hindering effective adoption. The conclusion is that there is an urgent need to formalize self-directed learning and move from voluntary models to mandatory technical upskilling aligned with core business processes.
