Teacher training and professional development are fundamental pillars for ensuring the quality of education systems and responding to the demands of a society characterized by the constant transformation of knowledge, technological innovation, and diverse learning contexts. This issue of EDUNEXA, Journal of Educational Research, dedicated to the theme of “Teacher Training and Professional Development,” brings together research focused on analyzing the professional competencies of 21st-century teachers, the curricular relevance of initial teacher training, ongoing professional development, teacher performance evaluation, pedagogical leadership, and the occupational well-being of educators. The included studies provide relevant evidence on the challenges and opportunities faced by education professionals in increasingly complex contexts. From a comprehensive perspective, this volume highlights the importance of strengthening teacher training as a strategy to promote pedagogical innovation, improve educational processes, and foster the sustainable development of educational institutions.
