GLOBAL GAP certification as a strategy to improve banana production processes

The international market constitutes a challenge to innovation, diversification and logistics management. Under this premise, this research aims to analyze the incidence of Global Gap certification as an improvement strategy in banana production processes; For this, a descriptive research was developed based on the methods of documentary review, content analysis and hermeneutics that allowed the study and interpretation of secondary information of scientific importance. Among the findings, it is highlighted that since Ecuador is one of the main producers and exporters of bananas, producers must comply with standards and certification requirements to ensure compliance with social and environmental standards in order to ensure the quality of the product delivered to the consumer. The Global Gap certification as a strategy affects the improvement of banana production processes, in addition, these standards add value to products, facilitating access to new clients, markets, suppliers and retailers, both local and international.
